RJ Power Rail are pleased to announce the award of a new contract on behalf of Docklands Light Railway (DLR), for the removal and replacement of the Shore supply overhead busbar trolley system at Beckton Depot.
As Principal Contractor and Designer, RJ Power Rail’s fully managed design and build contract covers the systematic removal and replacement of the trolley bus system on roads 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5A & 5B within the depot.
RJ Power Rail’s scope includes, intrusive surveys, design, procurement of all necessary Track Isolation Switches, Shore Supply Panels, Busbar Systems, Trollies, Pendants and Truncheons, Civils installation works, LV installation works and all associated testing, commissioning and hand-back works.

All of the works will be carried out within Depot Possessions, Traffic Hours or Engineering Hours and will be in managed in conjunction with DLR and their operator/maintainer Keolis Amey Docklands, under the control of a competent LOA.
Site documentation preparation has already commenced, with CPP’s, Quality and Environmental Plans in full production and survey methodologies having already been submitted for approval, in advance of the intrusive survey works commencing at the end of the month.
The works are due to be completed in December 2020.
