RJ Power Group has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic finance team working for an expanding and successful portfolio of businesses. Working for five companies underneath a group umbrella as part of a Shared Services Team, you will be supporting the Finance Director in delivering monthly management accounts and working alongside the Finance Manager in assisting with month-end close-down. The role is within a small team so there are no direct reports. The role is based in our Sevenoaks office with hybrid working available, after passing probation if preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, with budget analysis
• Investigate and explain variances
• Month – end adjustments and reconciliations
• Fixed assets
• Prepayments
• Accruals
• Monthly preferred supplier rebate calculations
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Input into monthly re-forecasting
• Input into annual budgeting process
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT Returns
• Provide support around Accounts Payable
• Assist with further projects as required by the Finance Director and Finance Manager
• Contributing to the improvement of procedures and reporting

Competences

• Later stages of studying for an accountancy qualification or qualified.
• Previous experience with ERP,MI Systems and Excel integrated reporting preferred.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels and all business functions
• Committed, self-reliant, hard-working, diligent, precise, accurate, not afraid to get stuck into a challenge
• Experience in the construction/electrical engineering industry and job costing is essential

Hours of work

• Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (but flexible) half hour lunch break
