RJ Power Rail’s civil engineering team continues to make progress as part of GWR’s planned construction of a new 1,800-capacity multi-storey car park at Didcot Parkway railway station.
The overall scheme, which is being managed by Osborne Rail, will see the number of car parking spaces at the station increase by over 65% to provide a better travelling experience for all those who use the station both now and into the future.
The works completed on behalf of Osborne have included carrying out some complex excavation works at Didcot station car park. The works within the temporary car park have been particularly challenging, as RJ Power Rail’s civils team has had to use smaller plant than originally planned to progress the works.
The project, which has been led by RJ Power Rail’s Senior Construction Manager Andy Gore and his Site Supervisor John Bumstead, has required a significant amount of stakeholder liaison and communication to keep it on track.
The company looks forward to its continued progress at this site and the developing relationship with its customer Osborne and other project stakeholders.
