RJ Power Networks Engineering team have recently visited the newly rebranded Brush Switchgear Factory, to witness a FAT test (Factory Acceptance Test) of switchgear being installed for an installation project at a prestigious University Campus in the South of England.
Brush Switchgear are a leading manufacturer of highly reliable indoor and outdoor switchgear, with a state-of-the art manufacturing facility located in Southern Wales. The factory has a long and rich history of electrical plant manufacture for the ever growing and changing electrical industry.
The electrical switchgear testing was led by 2 lead Brush technicians, who were extremely knowledgeable of the equipment being produced in the factory and the electrical sector. The testing works encompassed the following aspects:
RJ Power Networks Engineering team were required to witness the FAT tests in order to ensure that the SAT (Site Acceptance Test) was delivered on time and that the product being produced was compliant with all electrical regulations as well as site specific regulations. RJ Power Networks client was in attendance during the FAT testing, along with the Engineering team, to witness and inspect the product and be completely confident that the equipment was compliant with all required project specifications.
Once the all of the testing was complete, the team were taken on a guided tour of the Brush manufacturing facility to view the assembly lines, the current product range, and how the factory operates. The team were allowed to inspect various switchgear, such as DC circuit breaker technology, which is most commonly used in the Rail industry, and the new Quantum range, which we were informed has already been a great success with one of the major DNO’s.
