As part of the Kent HV Feeder Renewal Works, HV power contractor – RJ Power Group -have commissioned the new HV Feeder F1673 into service between Crayford Substation and Dartford Substation in conjunction with BCM Construction.
In preparation for the commissioning of the new HV feeder cable, RJ Power Group completed all required HV cable jointing, pilot cable jointing, the installation of new pilot boxes, associated containment and pre-commissioning testing.
RJ Power Group worked collaboratively throughout the entire design, build and commissioning process. When the existing feeder cable was under isolation & earth, RJ Power Group’s jointing teams decommissioned the existing feeder in order to complete the new terminations to the HV switchgear under a permit to work.
RJ Power Group supplied all Testing & Commissioning staff for this project and completed the project to their usual high standards regarding safety and quality.
This was their final commissioning on this particular package, which has seen RJ Power Group’s Rail Division’s HV team overcome some difficult issues to complete works safely, on time, and within budget.
