RJ Power Group has just successfully commissioned its HV Feeder installation works running between Plumstead and Charlton substations on behalf of Principal Contractor BCM Construction.
Having successfully completed Phase 1 of the Power Supply Upgrade project for BCM Construction Ltd, RJ Power Group was awarded Phase 2. This involved the installation, testing and commissioning of new high voltage (HV) feeder supplies.
The works formed part of a huge Network Rail initiative to renew much of the life-expired electrical assets serving the network. RJ Power Group provided a risk-assessed solution to fully install, test and commission the HV requirements of the project.
Successfully overcoming a number of challenges throughout the project, RJ Power Group’s works delivery team received recognition from Network Rail who praised the team’s pro-active approach.
They also commented on the high quality of the work and noted the exemplary safety behaviour of the team.
Glenn Rowatt, Managing Director of RJ Power, commented: “This phase of the project has been very challenging and we have managed to achieve great success. I think the lasting legacy for RJ Power Group is our willingness to work with others to find a solution.
“We have worked with BCM Construction Ltd. before and this facilitated a truly collaborative approach from the outset, demonstrating a willingness to go the extra mile in order to reach the highest possible standard of work.”
