SALARY Up to £32k depending on skills and experience

Strong communication, decision-making and organisational skills. A full driving license and own transport is essential for this role as it is split between our Horsham and Sevenoaks offices.

Are you an experienced IT Professional looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a technically strong and organised individual to join our Shared Services team, to work in a role that will be split between our Horsham and Sevenoaks offices. This is a stand-alone role, so we are looking for someone who can take the initiative and work on a range of IT issues from password resets right the way through to leading on projects to improve our systems. This busy and varied role will offer a great opportunity for someone looking to take a step up or for an already experienced individual who is looking for a new challenge.

Job description

  • First point of contact for troubleshooting issues and act as the main focal point for help and advice for all IT issues.
  • Install and support software (Windows, Mac, Linux, Norton Anti-Virus etc.), as well as hardware including processors, RAM, graphics cards, sound cards and drivers
  • Administer servers (i.e. Windows Server 2008, 2012) and perform fault finding through remote services (i.e. TeamViewer and WebEx).
  • Determine and establish the permissible rights of each employee in terms of access to company information held within the IT system.
  • When new hardware or software is required, provide advice on what is most appropriate to the business and purchase on behalf of Company Group.
  • Maintain a list of all software renewal applications, to ensure that they do not expire, unless the business has determined that they are no longer required.
  • Monitor the Company Server to ensure that there is sufficient space to enable the company to store its electronic records.
  • Responsible for managing backups and tape rotation
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops, install authorised software and ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops including appropriate antivirus installation.
  • Completing internal user moves including phones and patching of network and phones
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
  • Ensuring all software purchased licensing is recorded and maintained
  • Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes
  • Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements
  • Maintains systems, databases and web pages in accordance with business requirements
  • Provide remote IT support to Site Teams in respect of the Tablet and iPad roll out programme.
  • Liaise with Think Telecom to establish that user details are stored electronically within the company telephone network
  • Manage the IT equipment and mobile phones on behalf of the company, record their allocation and distribute accordingly.
  • Log IT requests and assess and respond to them by allotting a timescale for resolution against each IT request.
  • Produce a monthly key performance indicator report for the Shared Services Manager.

Successful applicants will have the following:

Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Business Information Technology or similar

Knowledge of computer hardware including servers, desktop PCs, laptops and mobile devices

Experience of installing, using and administering one or more computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows

Experience of using an IT service management system to manage, allocate and monitor support tasks

Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

Proven IT Support in similar post
