Are you an ambitious HR Professional looking for the next step in your career and looking to join a growing business in a varied and challenging role? The RJ Power Group are looking for a qualified and motivated HR Advisor to join their busy and successful team. The role will be based at the RJ Power Group office on the Graylands Estate. Horsham with some travel to the RJ Power Networks and Connections offices in Sevenoaks as and when required.

Working closely alongside the HR and Marketing Manager and a Training and Development Coordinator, the HR Advisor will fulfil a key role in providing a range of HR services to the RJ Power Businesses- RJ Power Group, RJ Power Rail, RJ Power Networks and RJ Power Connections, taking the lead as the first point of contact for Generalist HR Matters across the brands. In addition, the role holder will fill a secondary function as the Marketing Coordinator for the RJ Power businesses, working closely with the HR and Marketing Manager and Marketing partner to ensure the brands maintain consistency and maximise exposure through Social Media and other forms of engagement.

The role has arisen from a need to increase the level of HR support to the businesses following a continued period of successful growth and exciting development plans for the future. Job Description

The responsibilities of the HR Advisor will include:

Day to day HR Responsibilities

  • Administration of all Personal data and legal process in relation to HR activities throughout the life cycle of employment including, but not limited to recruitment, new starter actions, contract changes, leaver processing and other business as usual HR Activity.
  • Administration of all HR records on our online systems.
  • Collate and provide monthly information for Payroll including starters, leavers and contract changes.
  • Administer the completion and issue of agreed subcontracts within agreed rules and notifying line managers of contract review dates.
  • Manage the HR Inbox and answer general queries submitted e.g. reference requests, change of details etc
  • Provision of both information and guidance to employees and subcontractors in relation to their terms and conditions, employment rights and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide line managers with information on employee absence levels, directing them to the appropriate policies and procedures if an employee’s attendance is of concern.
  • Provide general guidance and advise on performance monitoring and improvement for poor performance, continuous improvement or to motivate high performers.
  • Facilitate the annual review of job descriptions or amendments to job descriptions that occur as a result of organisational change
  • Undertake actions on our online systems as required due to organisational restructures within the businesses e.g. Line Manager changes, creation of new roles.

As and when required Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the annual review of job descriptions or amendments to job descriptions that occur as a result of organisational change
  • Provide attendance (by telephone or face to face) at HR related meetings in order to take an accurate note of the meeting and to give guidance before, during or after the meeting in relation to employment legislation, policies or procedures.
  • Provide line managers with support in Absence review meetings where an employee’s attendance levels have failed to improve after informal intervention in line with agreed policy and procedures.
  • Provide face to face attendance and support at interviews for recruitment purposes.
  • Administer the annual renewal of employee benefit schemes, reviewing or providing additional information as needed.
  • Responding to Data Subject Access Requests for current employees, ex -employees or subcontractors.
  • Provide information and input into bids, tenders, PQQ or accreditation applications.

Additional Marketing Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the HR Manager and Sales Director to support the delivery of key marketing deliverables for RJ Power Group, RJ Power Rail, RJ Power Networks and RJ Power Connections.
  • Build a positive working relationship with the RJ Power Group Marketing Partner to maximise the benefit to the business from the contracts in place.
  • Maintain and promote the RJ Power Brand and associated collateral to ensure compliance for each RJ Power business e.g. use of logos and corporate colours.
  • Collect testimonials and feedback from clients across the RJ Power businesses which can be used to measure customer success, for news stories and social media promotion and for input into Tenders, Bids and PQQs.
  • Work with the RJ Power businesses to collect information and imagery in order to produce case studies, news stories and social media posts in drafts for review and publication to maintain a strong and positive external brand.
  • When required, assist with input into PQQ, Tender and Bid documents for sections related to HR, Training, Recruitment or general information about Company approach and Values.
  • Assist the Group Training and Engagement Coordinator with input into Company newsletters, communications and organisation of company events where required.

Successful applicants will have the following:

A full driving license and own transport is essential for this role as there will be ad-hoc travel to the RJ Power Networks office based in Sevenoaks, mileage will be paid for these occasions.
