Due to ongoing success and growth within the RJ Power businesses, there has become a need to expand the provision of Compliance support across the board with a particular focus on RJ Power Networks, RJ Power Connections and the newly formed RJ Power North business. Reporting into the wider HSQE and Compliance team, the successful candidate will work closely with the businesses to provide assurance that they are fulfilling their commitments to deliver works in accordance with their legal, regulatory, and organisational responsibilities.

The role will primarily be based in Halstead, Sevenoaks with attendance at work sites across the South East in order to undertake audits and occasional visits to the RJ Power North office in York as and when required. In light of recent policy changes, there will also be an agreed provision for a proportion of home working, specifics of which can be discussed during interview.

Our ideal Compliance Manager will take a supportive and collaborative approach with relevant stakeholders across the business to ensure they understanding the compliance frameworks and importance of following the required document control processes, and work with them to rectify and close out any non-conformances as required.

Job description

Review and update company documentation within the relevant Integrated Management System to ensure that it is compliant with stated Document Control requirements,

Develop and deliver internal audit schedules, where non-conformances and observations arise assist in the close out to complete within the required timescales, working in conjunction with the RJP Group Head of HSQE and the associated and Project Teams.

Develop and create policies and procedures, where deficiencies are identified, through audit; process review or as the result of new or emerging standards/legal requirements.

Work closely with and coordinate the businesses to help them successfully prepare for accreditation audits such as ISO Standards; NERs, Construction Line; Achilles UVDB, Safe Contractor, FORs etc.

Represent the company at Audits with external accrediting bodies as required.

Work closely with the Head of HSQE to monitor the Close Call reporting systems and any onward required client reporting,

Design, implement and monitor the Approved Suppliers database and associated approval forms.

Assist with the completion of client required PQQ’s and tender submissions.

Monitor the working hours of staff, highlighting time exceedances,

Work in conjunction with HR to arrange for all medical health assessments for staff.

Assist in the collation HSQE KPI information and provide a performance briefing per month for Senior management.

Disseminate any required industry related Compliance / HSQE bulletins / Lessons Learnt received.

Take ownership of the issuing and follow up of Client Customer Service questionnaires for the respective businesses and work closely with the wider HSQE and Compliance team with the analysis of results for feed back to the business.

Work closely with the Engineering Manager / Authorising Engineer and HR to ensure that individual RJ Power Competency certificates are kept accurate and up to date so current information is always readily available for clients,

Work closely with the wider HSQE and Compliance team to ensure any required changes to documentation raised by the engineers, management team or clients are implemented and briefed to the relevant parties,

Identify areas for Compliance improvement and develop, implement, monitor and review Corrective Actions designed to facilitate these improvements,

Develop relationships with other Compliance representatives from our main clients and industry partners in order to jointly develop compliance improvement campaigns,

Submit articles to internal and external newsletters that promote initiatives and performance improvement

Deputise for other Compliance related roles within the RJP group of companies.

Successful applicants will have the following:

  • A demonstrable history of compliance management experience
